May 2026 · Our first overnight ADV ride. A small crew, a private farm, home-cooked dinners over the fire, and Blue Ridge backroads at their best.
How it went
A small crew, a real weekend.
The plan was simple: put together a small overnight ADV ride for people in the DC / Maryland / Northern VA / Richmond area who own the bike but didn't really know where to start with adventure riding or moto camping.
No class. No guided tour. Just a ride-with-us weekend on private land at Mantodea Farm — tent camping, dinner and breakfast included, day rides out to nearby state forest, and everyone responsible for themselves and their machine.
Seven riders showed up. We rode forest service roads and ridgelines, regrouped at an overlook for the obligatory group photo, and cooked burgers over the fire after sunset. By the end of the weekend everyone had already asked when the next one was.
