Milroy → Bald Eagle State Forest → Jersey Shore → PA Grand Canyon → Wellsboro → Weedville → back to Milroy.

Gravel forest roads, canyon vistas, and one uphill section that reminded everyone the trip wasn't over yet.

Milroy to Milroy, the long way around.
Tuesday night
Everyone rolls into Milroy
We all met Tuesday night at the Best Western in Milroy, PA — minus Melis, who was coming from NYC and would join us the following night. The rest of the group traveled up from VA. Over dinner, we got to know each other. John and Anthony led the trip, with Sam, Jon and Mel joining as beginner riders on their first multi-day off-road adventure. Melis has been to every one of our events and is a dear friend and longtime supporter of Two Jackasses.
Day 1 · Wednesday
Milroy → Jersey Shore
We set off from the hotel after a quick briefing on what to expect, riding through Bald Eagle State Forest all the way up to Jersey Shore, PA. The day went smoothly, a great way to kick off the trip. We finished the route early, checked into our lodging by 4pm, and settled in for drinks and food that evening. It was an early night, tired legs and first-day nerves catching up with everyone.
Day 2
Jersey Shore → Wellsboro
We left Jersey Shore for Wellsboro, now riding with Melis, who'd arrived late the night before. After breakfast and coffee, we rode through the PA Grand Canyon, rewarded with sweeping vistas and lunch atop the mountain. No stress, just scenery, good roads, and camaraderie, with the group settling into the rhythm of riding together. We reached our cabin in Wellsboro with daylight to spare and headed to the river for a swim, followed by some well-earned hot tub time. Dinner around 7:30 wrapped up the day with good food and better conversation.
Day 3
Wellsboro → Weedville, the hard way
We left Wellsboro for Weedville, and the day had some tricks up its sleeve. The morning started smooth, until Mel's bike suddenly stopped running out of nowhere. We regrouped, found a faulty kickstand switch, and bypassed it — which worked just long enough to convince us we were back in business. We ended up towing Mel and her bike about 12 miles into Renovo, the nearest town, where we tracked the real issue down to a faulty clutch sensor. With that fixed and about 3 hours lost, we got back on the trail and rolled into Weedville later than planned but with daylight left, capping the night with pizza, beer, and stories from the balcony about how crazy the day had been.
Day 4 · Rest day
Elk Festival in Benezette
We took our time getting out of the cabin, grabbed breakfast as a group, and headed to the Elk Festival in Benezette. From there, the group split up — John, Melis and Anthony went looking for tougher terrain and found plenty of it, getting close and personal with the ground more than once. The rest of the crew checked out a local museum while Mel rested back at the cabin. Everyone regrouped for a late lunch at the Benezette Hotel before Melis headed out for his drive back to NYC. The rest of the evening was movies, beers, and taking it easy.
Day 5 · Final day
Back to Milroy
The longest day of the trip, with an expected return to Milroy past 6pm. The group rolled out in good spirits, stopping for gas, snacks, coffee, and a BBQ lunch along the way. Just when it felt like smooth sailing to the finish, a tough uphill section reminded everyone the trip wasn't over yet — and everyone crushed it, rewarded with incredible vistas at the top before heading back down to wrap things up.
The wrap
Five days, one crew.
We rolled back into the hotel where it all started five days earlier. Bikes got loaded onto trailers, and after five days on the road together, it was time for goodbyes — not without a mix of joy, excitement, and a little sadness that it was over.
We're grateful for the chance to do this, and to Sam, Mel, Jon and Melis for trusting us and letting us share our passion for adventure motorcycle travel with them.
