How it went
Exactly what a ride weekend should feel like.
A few riders rolled into Penmerryl Farm for a proper long weekend: no rush, no overbuilt itinerary, just solid riding and a better basecamp than most people expect from an ADV event.
Across a couple of days the group covered more than 250 miles combined, mixing twisty pavement with dirt and some seriously well-groomed gravel roads. It was the kind of route mix that keeps the big bikes happy and still gives everyone a reason to stop, look around, and talk about the last section.
Back at camp, the rhythm was easy: cool off at the pool, eat a real breakfast, come back hungry for dinner, then settle in with drinks over the fire and swap stories until it was time to do it all again the next morning. That balance is the whole point — strong riding during the day, good people and good camp life when the helmets come off.
Why it works
More than just a route.
- Pre-scouted roads that string together pavement, dirt, and gravel without the guesswork.
- A real camp setup with meals handled, so riders can focus on the ride instead of logistics.
- Enough downtime to relax between loops instead of burning everyone out.
- Small-group energy — you actually get to know the people you're riding with.
